Driving Directions

Here’s how to get to Henderson, MN for the:

  • Hummingbird Garden (Corner of Oak & 4th Streets)
  • National Ruby-Throated Hummingbird Center (209 S. 6th St.) Up the hill from Main St.
  • Henderson Hummingbird Hurrah! (Hummingbird Garden and Bender Park) 3rd Saturday in August! Bender Park 200 N. 3rd St. Watch for the INFORMATION Tent!

You could just follow a hummingbird; but if you’re driving, here’s the simplest ways to get to the Henderson Hummingbird Hurrah!   NOTE: HWY 93 CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION UNTIL fall 2026!!. ENTRANCES TO HENDERSON ON HWY 19 FROM THE WEST AND EAST AND COUNTY RD 6 FROM THE NORTH!

From the North (Twin Cities, Shakopee, Jordan…)

  1. Head southwest on US-169 S.
  2. Exit onto MN-19 ramp.
  3. Turn right (west) onto MN-19 and continue approximately 4 miles into Henderson.
  4. County Rd. 6, Scenic Byway is now OPEN from the North! Opened fall of 2025. Also opened the new Hummingbird Bike Trail along County Rd 6! Grand Opening of the Bike Trail will be May 2026!!

From the South (Mankato, St. Peter, Le Sueur…)

  1. Head north on US-169.
  2. Exit onto MN-19 ramp.
  3. Turn right (west) onto MN-19 and continue approximately 4 miles into Henderson.

From the East (New Prague…)

  1. Head west on MN-19 toward Henderson.  19 goes directly through Henderson.  Watch for 4th St, turn right.
